Naar school gaan is niet vanzelfsprekend

In Burundi gaan nog niet alle kinderen naar school. Schoolkinderenproject

Het schoolgeld wordt meestal wel betaald door de overheid, maar dan moet je nog wel schoolspullen, een uniform en schoenen kopen. Dat verzorgt Dufashanye-2Burundi voor 12 kinderen in verschillende gemeenten van Burundi.

Ben je benieuwd naar de reacties van 6 van de kinderen die dankzij ons naar school kunnen? Lees dan het hele bericht.

Uit de interviews blijkt dat de kinderen zonder onze steun geen kans op een opleiding hadden. Nu ze de basisschool bijna hebben afgerond dromen ze van een opleiding als dokter of engineer.

Engels blijkt een moeilijk vak, rekenen, Frans en scheikunde gaat de meeste kinderen beter af. Naast school helpen de kinderen in het huishouden en werken soms zelfs om de kost te verdienen.

Wij zijn blij dat we deze kinderen kunnen helpen.

1) What do you think about going to school? I enjoy going to school because it helps me to prepare a better future.

2) What is your school schedule? How many hours you go to school during one week? How many days a week do you go to school? I go to school from Monday to Friday, in the morning and in the afternoon every day. Morning: 7h30-11h30, afternoon: 13h15-17h30.

3) What is your opinion on the courses or subjects? I like all subjects.

4) Do you have an opinion about the number of children in your class? All children in my class are 105. Some cannot do not have a seat.

5) How is it to learn English? Can you speak and read English? I have learnt English but it is very difficult for me. I cannot speak or write English well.

6) What do you want to become when you finish school and how do you think to reach this?  I want to become an electronic engineer. I have to keep on studying to reach that.

7) What have you achieved by going to school?  Because of school I can now read well, do some Maths, and socially I can live well with other children.

8) What are you doing after school and in the weekend?  After school I revise my lessons, help my parents in house work, and sometimes play soccer. In the weekend I do the same but in addition I go to church or spend some time playing guitar.

9) How is your situation at home? My parents are not rich. But we get food everyday and they manage to clothe me as well. My Dad is driver.

10) Do you have brothers and sisters? If you do, do they also go to school?  I have 5 other brothers, no sister. On brother is very small he does not yet go to school.

11) What do you know about the Dufashanye Foundation? And do you have any questions for them? Yes, I know DUFASHANYE because they support us with school material each year. My wish is that DUFASHANYE continue to support my studies so that I can achieve my dreams.

6) What do you want to become when you finish school and how do you think to reach this?  I want to become a medical doctor and by reaching this I need to continue studying hard.

7) What have you achieved by going to school? Now I can read and write well and I know many things such as geography and other sciences.

8) What are you doing after school and in the weekend?  After school I revise my notes and do my homework. Then I help my mum to wash dishes and to clean the house. In the weekend I go to church.

9) How is your situation at home? My parents are not rich. But not very poor. My mum does very small business and my dad works for someone else by keeping his garden.

10) Do you have brothers and sisters? If you do, do they also go to school? 2 sisters and 2 brothers. All go to school except my baby sister.

11) What do you know about the  Dufashanye Foundation? And do you have any questions for them? I know DUFASHANYE because of the support they give me every year. I want them to continue to support me to become a doctor. And I want them come to visit us one day and I want that we the children can go to visit them in their country.

2) What is your school schedule? How many hours you go to school during one week? How many days a week do you go to school? I go to school from Monday to Friday, in the morning and in the afternoon every day. Morning: 7h30-11h30, afternoon: 13h15-17h30.

3) What is your opinion on the courses or subjects? I like all subjects but I have problems with Maths and English.

4) Do you have an opinion about the number of children in your class? 105 children in classroom.

5) How is it to learn English? Can you speak and read English? I cannot speak English. But I can write a few words.

6) What do you want to become when you finish school and how do you think to reach this?  I want to become a medical doctor. To reach that, I have to continue my studies and study very hard.

7) What have you achieved by going to school? By going to school I gained many friends. I can now read and write well and understand some of the things I did not understand as a small kid. Now I know about the rotation of the earth for example.

8) What are you doing after school and in the weekend?  After school, I rest a little bit. Then I do my home work and revise my lessons. After that I help my mum in some house works. Then I go to play with other kids. On weekends I do the same and in the afternoon I go to church.

9) How is your situation at home? My dad is a pastor of a very small rural church. Besides, he does second-hand clothes selling business. My mum does not work. So, we are not rich.

10) Do you have brothers and sisters? If you do, do they also go to school? I have one sister and 2 brothers. My sister is still a baby and one brother is still small to go to school.

11) What do you know about the  Dufashanye Foundation? And do you have any questions for them? I know DUFASHANYE through the support they give us each year. I request DUFASHANYE to continue the support for children. But I have not seen them.

2) What is your school schedule? How many hours you go to school during one week? How many days a week do you go to school? I go to school from Monday to Friday. Alternatively one week in the morning from 7h30 -11h30m and the following week in the afternoon from 13h15-17h00

3) What is your opinion on the courses or subjects? I like French, Sciences, Kirundi and English. But Maths is very hard to me.

4) Do you have an opinion about the number of children in your class? 65 kids in my classrooms

5) How is it to learn English? Can you speak and read English? I like English and I can speak very few words.

6) What do you want to become when you finish school and how do you think to reach this?  I want to become a medical doctor. So, I need to finish all my studies.

7) What have you achieved by going to school? Now I can read and write French, Kirundi, English. And I can do some Maths and I know some sciences.

8) What are you doing after school and in the weekend? After school I revise my lessons then I go to play with other children. Then we eat and pray and go to sleep. In the weekend, I go for private intensive teaching and in the afternoon I go to church.

9) How is your situation at home? My parents are not rich but also we are not very poor.

10) Do you have brothers and sisters? If you do, do they also go to school? I have 3 brothers, no sister. 2 go to school one is too small yet.

11) What do you know about the  Dufashanye Foundation? And do you have any questions for them? I know DUFASHANYE because of the support of school material. My request to them is to help me continue my studies until I become a doctor. Then I want to visit their country and see children there.

1) What do you think about going to school? School is very important to me. I was the first one to go to school in my family. School has improved my school.

2) What is your school schedule? How many hours you go to school during one week? How many days a week do you go to school? I go to school from Monday to Friday. Alternatively one week in the morning from 7h30 -11h30m and the following week in the afternoon from 13h15-17h00.

3) What is your opinion on the courses or subjects? I like Maths and sciences. French and English are very difficult to me.

4) Do you have an opinion about the number of children in your class? 97 children in my classroom.

5) How is it to learn English? Can you speak and read English? English is very hard to me. I cannot speak or write it well. I only can understand very few words.

6) What do you want to become when you finish school and how do you think to reach this? I want to become a great industrial engineer. For that I have to continue my studies and finish them.

7) What have you achieved by going to school? By going to school I have learnt to read and write and to know many new things. I have also gained some moral conduct for my life.

8) What are you doing after school and in the weekend? After school I help my mum to bring water at home and do some other works at home like cleaning dishes. Then I briefly do my home work. On weekends most of the time I go to help my mum in our small farm. Sometimes I keep our goats when they go to feed on grasses.

9) How is your situation at home? My dad is handicapped he cannot work. Only my mum and I can work to provide food for my younger siblings. We are poor but we are thankful.

10) Do you have brothers and sisters? If you do, do they also go to school?  I have 2 sister and 2 brothers. One brother and one sister go to school. Others are very small.

11) What do you know about the  Dufashanye Foundation? And do you have any questions for them? I only heard of DUFASHANYE when they receive support from them. My request to them is to continue to support me to become a scientist.

1) What do you think about going to school? I love school because in school I gained new knowledge like writing and reading skills.

2) What is your school schedule? How many hours you go to school during one week? How many days a week do you go to school? I go to school from Monday to Friday, in the morning and in the afternoon every day. Morning: 7h30-11h30, afternoon: 13h15-17h30.

3) What is your opinion on the courses or subjects? I like all subjects but English is difficult to me.

4) Do you have an opinion about the number of children in your class? In my classrooms there are 92 children.

5) How is it to learn English? Can you speak and read English? English is very difficult to me. I can only read and write very few words.

6) What do you want to become when you finish school and how do you think to reach this? When I finish school I want to become a university professor teaching sciences. To reach this I have to read many books and continue my studies.

7) What have you achieved by going to school?  Because of school I can write and read well and I understand many things concerning the world that surrounds me.

8) What are you doing after school and in the weekend? After school, I help my mum in bringing water at home. Sometimes she sends to market to buy food items. Then I do my homework and revise my lessons. In the weekend I wash my clothes and those of my brothers. After that I revise my lessons again and in the afternoon I play soccer. On Sunday morning I go to church.

9) How is your situation at home? My dad died I only live with mum. She does small fruit selling business to help us survive.

10) Do you have brothers and sisters? If you do, do they also go to school? I have 2 brothers. Yes they go to school.

11) What do you know about the  Dufashanye Foundation? And do you have any questions for them? I only know DUFASHANYE because of the support they send us. I want DUFASHANYE to support more to continue our studies.
