1. WHAT HAVE CHANGED SO FAR SINCE THE CLIENT STARTED TO GET SUPPORT FROM ARB SOCIAL WORKERS?
In the past my child was afraid of other people, including members of our family. She was like trying to hide herself from people. When I tried to force her to play with other children, she used to refuse and try to hurt other children. Talking was a big issue. But since ARB social worker have started to work with Fides, she now do her best to communicate thought it is still hard. She is no longer afraid to meet new people and has developed a sense of tolerance to other children than before.
2. DO YOU HAVE SOME REMARKS REGARDING ARB WORK
I only have positive remarks so far. I think it would be very helpful if ARB social workers come to visit Fides so often. Now I can do some other things when they are taking care of my child. I don’t know if this is possible or not.
3. WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?
Selling things in front of my door and farming.
4. GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY WHAT WOULD BE YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO ARB
I can avail myself to work in the plantation at ARB compound when requested to do so.
5. BASED ON THE PERCEPTION OF MENTAL HANDICAPPED IN YOUR COMMUNITY, WHAT HAVE CHANGED SO FAR SINCE ARB GOT INVOLVED
I see people more tolerant towards handicapped people and their relatives than it used to be. They can even helpful bring back the child when she tries to go far from my house.
6. WHAT CAN BE DONE TO MAKE PEOPLE CHANGE THEIR MENTALITY ON MENTAL HANDICAPPED PROBLEMATIC
Sensitization on handicap problematic can help people change their mentality. This is possible by organizing workshops or meetings either at ARB center or in villages.
7. WHAT IS YOUR WISH TOWARDS ARB OBECTIVES
My wish is that my child can be better and become self-supportive in life.
